Sir William’s Cottage and Lodge is not your typical beach resort. It provides basic accommodations such as: air-conditioned rooms, karaoke and table pool. “Our rooms are Small, Medium , Large & Xtra Large. All of them we make sure, are cozy and clean . Room sizes are designed for the majority of the population/guests who only need them for a short period of time to rest after a tiring day of activities (island hopping, mountain trekking, trolling the seaside/seashore, driving to other neighboring town of Pundakit, visiting relatives, seeing & enjoying neighboring town’s attractions, swimming , snorkeling , surfing in the south China sea, enjoying our karaoke, tablepool area while socializing(eating , drinking & singing) with their associates, attending a meeting or doing other team building or family bonding activities such as playing games, so on & so forth.. there are too many activities you can do here” says William Salinas, the owner of Sir William’s Cottage.
I am not a beach bum but I have visited popular beach resorts here in the Philippines during family vacations. I once went to Phi-phi Island in Phuket, Thailand. There are two things that they all have in common – all of them are crowded and highly commercialized. I could not get myself to enjoy the scene with all the people around, I simply do not prefer crowded places. So If you’re looking for a private get away at the beach, with some friends and family, this place is for you. The boat ride is a blast! a great experience for a city rat like me.
William is good friend of mine and have known him since high school. When I asked him why did he gotten into this business, he replied “This is our family vacation house and its only 500 square meter plus, but we decided to make it a small cute lodge resort. I want to share this wonderful place with everybody. For them to see the beautiful beaches here and the different scenery like the islands of Capones (Spanish Lighthouse, Snorkling site, Fishing, white sand) , Camara (white sand) , Annawagin & Nagsasa Cove. You can rent our bankas (traditional filipino small boat) if you want to go to these islands … during rainy season, you can trek to pundaquit mountain, visits the waterfalls or perhaps surfing, all at very affordable prices.”
You can see internet advertisements of Sir William cottage posted on Sulit.com.ph – a very popular online ads website in the Philippines, and they also maintain a website at: http://warendel.multiply.com. “The Internet has been very helpful in promoting this small resort of ours. Majority of the our customers actually comes from these ads. I guess you just need to be very persistent in posting and updating your ads.” says William.
